What is happening physiologically?

  • Menstruation has come to an end.

  • You may notice a couple of complete dry days before wet/lubricative mucus starts to appear.

  • Oestrogen steadily rises and with this cervical mucus increases in quality and quantity

  • Between 6- 10 follicles may begin to develop, but only one will become the dominant follicle and mature completely to produce an ovum or egg

  • It takes a couple of months for follicles to mature all the way to ovulation. This is why it’s important to remember that menstrual cycle health is an ongoing and long term thing.
